Visiting Bornholm is a part of a bucket list to be marked as a check because of the amazing sceneries and experiences that can be acquired while visiting. One of the famous and largest towns in Bornholm to explore is Hasle Town which has a population of around 1,700. The town is approximately 11 Kilometers north of Ronne which can be reached through cars or a bike ride for 30 minutes while enjoying the picturesque scenery of the route through Norskoven and the town of Sorhat-Muleby.
Hasle town became famous for being the home of a historic 14th-century stone church named Nykirke with a half-timbered tower. This small but scenic church has been a tourist destination for those who visit Bornholm. In the southern area of the town, a beautiful beach is lying with breathtaking scenery because of pine woods circulating the area. While around 7 kilometers going north is you can find a steep granite coastline that caters to a cliff chapel known as Jons Kapel or John’s Chapel which is 40 meters in height.
Hasle village also has its own harbor named Hasle Marina. This is a harbor that was expanded in 2000. This harbor was previously a small fishing port until it got expanded to a big harbor known as Hasle Marina. They opened new summerhouses built close to the harbor and they also introduced Hasle Havnebad or called Hasle Harbor bath which is a cool spot for swimming with some water activities like jumping spots and saunas. This bath area is often visited by tourists during summer time while the locals throughout the year. After the harbor area, you’ll find the famous Hasle Silderøgeri or a Smokehouse, Nordliv, and Hasle Family camping site. It has an outdoor pool which can be enjoyed by everyone while camping.
One of the amazing festivities that people can enjoy in Bornholm is specifically found in Hasle Village. This is the “Sildefest” or Herring Festival. This festival is often held on every 2nd weekend of July in the harbor area. The festival gives an amazing feel of live music, fireworks, non-stop parties, and amusement parks. Every year, locals make sure that the festival is full packed with cool activities and a bunch of entertainment for all ages to enjoy.
It is indeed that Bornholm is a bucket list to mark off by visiting and enjoying all spaces of the area as each place is an experience of a lifetime.
